Surprise, surprise!! It's another fabulous TPT ONE day, site-wide sale! Teachers ARE heroes...to their students, families, and coworkers. I can think of many teachers in my lifetime that have influenced me to do better, be stronger, and to take learning to the next level. They are the heroes in my life. I look up to them and hope that one day at least one student will say the same about me.
In honor of all the teachers that have influenced someone in their lives, I'll be offering 20% off in my store. TPT will offer an additional 10% when you use the code: HEROES. That's a total of 28% off your purchase.

Happy Sunday!! Did you all get snow yesterday? We sure did!! Originally, we were suppose to get 3-6 inches, then it was increased to 6-10 inches...well, I believe we got at least a foot with a layer of ice! We haven't been out to get an official measurement but it's about time we got a good snow here!! It's definitely no Boston but I'm content with what we got. The only thing that would've made it even better was if it happened on a school day...hehe!
Now, onto the important stuff...I'm joining my first linky party!!!! I'm linking up with Teaching Trio
to give you a little insight into my week.
Here's my 3, 2, 1...
Three things I HAVE to do:
1. I am in DIRE need of a haircut and highlight! I have an appointment on Thursday at noon. My MIL is watching BP for a couple hours and I'm going to get beautified!! Awww-Yeah!
2. The hubs and I are going to a Ducks Unlimited event on Saturday night. We are double dating with another couple and bringing the baby. Mr. C is an avid fisherman and hunter. Ducks Unlimited is a Wetlands & Waterfowl Conservation organization. This is his dream date night! We went last year and I won a shotgun...yes, a shotgun...I would have preferred a Coach purse, but Mr. C was SUPER excited!!
3. Wegmans, Wegmans, oh how I love thee! If you've never been to a Wegmans you are missing out on an amazing experience. I know some may not agree, but man, I love that place! We recently moved and the closest Wegmans is 30 minutes away. I think I went through withdrawal when we first moved here...but I get my fix by going every other weekend. I look forward to this trip all week!! I've already got my list made, grocery bags by the door, and am hoping the roads will be cleared this afternoon.
Two things I HOPE to do:
1. I hope I can get to the 11:00 church service. It's been a couple weeks since we've gone...it's been too cold to bundle up a 2 month old. Be kind, don't judge.
2. I'm really hoping to try a Stroller Strides this week. They meet at 9:20 am at a local mall. I need SOMETHING to kickstart this body back into shape.
One thing I'm HAPPY to do:
1. I hate the cold!!! Let me repeat...I. HATE. THE. COLD. I am more than happy to take care of BP, sit on my chaaaaaise, and stay warm while Mr. C shovels a foot of snow off the driveway, off the deck, off the sidewalk...you get it.
Hi! And, welcome to my blog!! I am a complete newbie when it comes to blogging. I've been "talking" about it for months...ok, maybe...years. I finally took the plunge and had a blog made. Let me tell you, as difficult as it was to determine fonts, graphics, blog features; it was WAY easier than figuring out how to create it on my own. A huge thank you goes to Megan at A Bird In Hand Designs for designing the blog and to Jessica at JWIllustrations for creating the custom girl graphic and having the cutest summer graphics in her store. I just LOVE how it turned out! It truly shows who I am. If you read my About Me page you'll know that I have the cutest baby boy!!! I'm currently on maternity leave and won't return to the classroom until the end of March, possibly the beginning of April. It all depends on how many snow days we have. With this being said, I won't be blogging much about my classroom. I won't be there to share what's happening or take pictures.
So today I'm going to share BP's Valentine's Day gifts for Mommy and Daddy. Of course, I didn't take any pictures...I'll get the hang of this...eventually.
As I've mentioned, I'm a wanna-be crafter & DIYer. I REALLY want to be able to make fun things at home, especially with vinyl. I have a weird addiction to vinyl; although I've never used it. I've always dabbled in creating graphic wall art on my computer. I've made several as gifts for weddings and baby showers. Well, this year I asked Santa for a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas. I must have been good because I got one!!! What do you think is the first media I decided to work with?!?!?! You got it! VINYL! I googled several videos on how to use the machine, specifically with vinyl, and got straight to work.
Initially, I found this craft at 517 Creations. The more I thought about it, the more I realized how difficult this was going to be with a 2 month old. So, I went to Michaels and bought four 9x12 canvases. Four, you ask? Yes, four...just in case I made a mistake. Good thing I planned ahead because I used all four. I also purchased red and white acrylic paint and paintbrushes. I mixed the paints to get three different shades of pink and painted an ombre pattern. I was pretty impressed with how they turned out! Next, I created the words on the Silhouette, cut them, and attempted to place them on the canvas. This was NOT so easy. The first time I did it, I chose a font that had TONS of cut-outs. It would have been cute but it was impossible to manipulate. I finally decided on easier fonts. After a few tries of cutting, peeling, laying, I got them onto the canvas and VIOLA! The perfect Valentine's Day gifts. I added BP's name and the year. Now, you may ask, "How did a 2 month old help make these gifts?" He actually took a few long naps and I was able to work during that time!! What more could I have asked for! Check out the picture of our final work. Daddy loved it and immediately put his in his office.
That's all for today! Hopefully you'll stick around for more of my rambles!
