About Me

Hi!  Welcome to my teaching blog.  I wanted to start a blog for a very long time but never got the nerve to start one.  I finally decided to have one professionally made.  I figured this would motivate me to start sharing the events and goings-on in my classroom.  Well, I'm at least getting my About Me page completed...that's a start, right?!?!

I am happily married to the best man ever and we have the sweetest baby boy!!  For future reference, we'll call my husband, Mr. C, and our baby, BP.  BP is only 2 months old (Feb '15), so I'm currently on maternity leave.  I honestly thought I would have all the time in the world to work on my TPT store and my blog while on leave...HAHA!!!  Was I wrong!!  Right now, BP is sleeping in my arms while I type with one hand...shhh, baby sleeping, YAY!!  In addition to our little "wish come true" we have a 2 year old cat (M) and a 15 month Doberman (D).  Needless to say, we have a busy home!!

I've been teaching for 15 years...it sure doesn't feel like that long!!  For the last six years I've been in second grade.  Prior to that I was a Kindergarten teacher.  I remember when my principal asked me to move from K to 2nd, I had a panic attack!  No WAY!!!!  What do second graders learn? They're so much older!  Well, six years later, it was the best decision ever!!   And, now I know...second graders learn a lot!  I love scouring Pinterest and stalking following blogs to get amazing ideas!!

As you can tell from my blog name, as much as I love teaching, I REALLY love summer!!!  It's our family's favorite time of the year.  Mr. C loves to grill, I enjoy eating...match made in Heaven, don't you think?!  On warm summer nights, we have fun sitting on our deck and having a few cocktails.  Every year we take two summer vacations, one with his fam and one with mine.  We look forward to both of them all year long!  On hot summer days, I spend my time at the pool, reading books, and napping.  Of course, this will all change...I can't wait to spend my summers with BP now!!  While inside the home, I pretend to be crafty and am a wanna-be DIYer.
